Death Education & Community Learning
Most of us have had very few opportunities to learn about death in ways that are open, relational, and grounded in our shared humanity.
Death education creates space to ask honest questions, deepen understanding, and become more familiar with the many ways individuals, families, and communities have cared for one another through illness, dying, death, and grief across time and cultures.
Every gathering is different.
I approach this work with curiosity, cultural humility, and deep respect for the lived experience, wisdom, spiritual autonomy, and diverse perspectives each person brings. Rather than offering one way of understanding death, I invite thoughtful conversation that makes room for many ways of knowing.
In Eugene, I also host Death Cafés and Conversations About Age and Change at the Campbell Community Center—open gatherings where anyone is welcome to come and talk about death, aging, and what matters most.

Depending on the gathering, presentations, workshops, grief circles, rituals, and facilitated conversations may explore topics such as death companioning, caregiving, grief, community grief tending, Medical Aid in Dying (MAID), Voluntarily Stopping Eating and Drinking (VSED), family-led after-death care, home funerals, green burial, age and change, death literacy, and Oregon’s licensed psilocybin services for people living with serious illness or approaching the end of life.
Whether gathering with healthcare professionals, hospices, senior centers, schools, faith communities, conferences, workplaces, community organizations, or members of the public, my hope is that people leave feeling more comfortable talking about death, more familiar with the choices available to them, and more connected to the wisdom already present within themselves, their families, and their communities.

InvestmentMost community presentations and facilitated conversations are $175–$275 for gatherings of approximately 90 minutes to two hours.
